This Rhamphorhynchus aff. gemmingi (pterosaur) fossil
specimen was discovered in a small, privately operated
quarry about 700 meters south of the village of
Mühlheim, Altmühltal region, Bavaria, Germany. The
longest measurement of the specimen is 56 cm and the
matrix measures approximately 96 x 67.5 cm.
It was found in the summer of 2008 in the
“Mornsheimer Schichten,” Hybonotum zone, Malm zeta
3 (Upper Jurassic, Tithonian), by Roland Pöschl, who is
the owner of the quarry and also the only person
excavating this site.
