OTODUS MEGALODON TOOTH — WEST JAVA, INDONESIA
This substantial Otodus megalodon tooth was recovered as a land find in West Java, Indonesia. Measuring 5.48 inches along its maximum dimension, it has an impressive presence while retaining the natural character expected of a large, unrestored fossil tooth.
The broad triangular crown displays warm cream, tan, and reddish-brown mineral tones, with attractive natural patterning across the enamel. Fine serrations remain visible along much of both cutting edges, and the tooth retains a well-defined tip. The reverse is especially striking, with deeper brown coloration extending through the crown.
The root is substantially preserved and displays the porous texture, weathering, and natural erosion commonly seen in Indonesian megalodon teeth. Fine enamel fissures, mineral staining, and surface wear are present throughout and reflect the specimen’s geological history.
This is a large and visually distinctive example with strong display presence, appealing coloration, and considerable natural character.
