We are excited to present this rare Eocene fossil gar (Masillosteus janeae) from the Green River Formation, 18 inch layer, Smith Hollow Quarry, Kemmerer, Wyoming. This museum quality gar measures 43 inches long. It is preserved in the original matrix, with minimal restoration. Masillosteus janeae is the rarest gar species from "Fossil Lake" and second scarcest species of fish from this famous locality.
- Gar measures 43 inches; matrix measures about 60 x 36 inches
- Approximately 3% restoration (primarily on outer section of the pectoral fins)
- The specimen is ready to hang flush on a wall.
