This exceptional 57-inch woolly mammoth tusk displays rare and naturally occurring blue and green colouration, the result of vivianite mineralization acquired during millennia of preservation in Siberian permafrost. Recovered from Yakutia, the specimen dates to the Late Pleistocene, over 20,000 years ago, when woolly mammoths roamed the northern tundra.

The tusk’s elegant curvature and saturated hues place it among the most visually striking Ice Age ivories to appear on the market. It is presented on a custom-made stained solid oak stand, designed to accentuate the natural sweep and sculptural presence of the piece.

Equally suited to a major natural history institution, a museum-quality private collection, or a distinguished residential or corporate interior, this is a commanding display object with both scientific and aesthetic gravitas.

All Fossil Realm mammoth tusks are professionally stabilized. As with all fossil ivory, the piece must be maintained in a climate-controlled indoor environment. Recommended conditions are 50–60% relative humidity and temperatures between 68–78°F (20–26°C).

Fossil mammoth ivory is legally distinct from modern elephant ivory and is identifiable by its characteristic Schreger line cross-hatching, permitting international trade under current regulations.
