This is a magnificent Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) upper rear leg bone (femur) from an Alpha Male. It is an extremely rare fossil - in terms of completeness, quality of preservation and size, and comes from an old collection. It dates back to the Pleistocene Epoch, 40 000 years ago, and was discovered in the North Sea, Holland.
At 1.15 metres in length (3.77 feet) and 20.2 kg in weight (44.5 lbs) this jaw-dropping fossil is as impressive as a mammoth bone can be. Extremely rare to be this complete. Note: approximately 15% restoration. Will be safely shipped in a custom-made crate.
