This remarkable, 4.8 inch fossil shark tooth (Carcharocles megalodon) is from Beaufort County, South Carolina. It's an excellently preserved, complete tooth with serrations, complete front enamel and an awesome, pointed tip. No restoration!

Megalodon was the largest predatory fish to ever swim the oceans. Scientists estimate that Megalodon measured 10 feet for every inch of shark tooth length. This monster probably measured nearly 50 feet long! 

Astonishingly, Megalodon bite marks have been found in whale bones.

Age: Pliocene Epoch, 5.3 to 2.6 million years old.
