Beautiful Septarian Egg - 11 inches
This piece is unavailable
This gorgeous egg shape sculpture was carved from a septarian nodule found in Madagascar. Septarian nodules were formed as clay balls on the ocean floor during the Cretaceous period - 70 million years old. Over time, the balls cracked and were filled with minerals. The centre has beautiful crystals surrounded by a polished exterior. The brown lines are aragonite, and the grey rock is limestone. There is a removable piece which can be inserted to complete the egg shape.
A beautiful decorator item!
The rotating walnut stand included.
