Beautiful Septarian Sphere

This piece is unavailable

This gorgeous sectarian sphere carved from a nodule found in Madagascar. Septarian nodules were formed as clay balls on the ocean floor during the Cretaceous period - 70 million years old. Over time, the balls cracked and were filled with minerals. The brown lines are aragonite, the yellow ones are calcite, and the grey rock is limestone.

A beautiful decorator item!
