Update: Our Rare Spiny Ammonite Sells on CBC's Four Rooms Season Finale

Jim Lovisek made a great deal!

On the season finale of the CBC TV show, Four Rooms, he sold one of the rarest items in the Fossil Realm collection, a spiny Ostlingoceras ammonite. Buyer Jessica Lindsay Phillips, director of the Billy Jamieson-Niagara Falls Museum Collection was excited to acquire this wonder from Eons past.

The negotiations went over well. Jim and Jessica agreed on $12,000 for the ammonite, a befitting value this amazing fossil. Both parties were very satisfied with deal. Jessica made it clear that she appreciated the scientific significance of the fossil and hoped to find an appropriate home for the piece, possibly the Ripley's Aquarium of Canada or the Royal Ontario Museum. Either place would enable the public to see this one-of-a-kind ammonite up close.
